Tamaya Relaxation

My job is just sooooooo amazing! I'm super blessed. Sunday morning I left for a work trip which technically is a vacation but I'm just watching the baby too. Which of course, I'm perfectly okay with. We didn't travel far from home just about 30 minutes to the Tamaya Hyatt Resort. Sunday was just a lazy day. Fiamma's parents went golfing while she and I stayed in the room and did NOTHING! It was awesome I took two naps that day and she slept for almost 3 hours on one of her naps (not very normal for her she's not a good napper) while I took little cat naps. Sunday night it was date night for my bosses so Fiamma and I just stayed in and I ordered room service, yes, room service. I didn't really know what that was until now. I'm a mountain girl. I mean we traveled a lot but room service???? No. We did a little on the cruise we went on when I was 12 but that was about it. anyways I ordered a delicious Steak Salad with Bleu Cheese Vinaigrette. So good Monday was a great "family" day I feel like I've been adopted by my employers not that I work for them. We went on a walk around the resort and then spent most of the day out by the pool. The topper to all of this Monday night Fiamma, (who was staying in my room to give her parents some sleep) slept through the night for the first time ever. I woke up at around 3 or 4, freaking out. I was thinking that the baby was screaming and I just slept through it or that she had been screaming so bad her parents could hear her 4 doors down and came to feed her. But no all the bottles that I had prepared with formula were still sitting there. So I went to the crib and checked to see if she was still breathing. There she was out like a light. I did a little chig and got back in bed to go back to sleep for her only to wake around 6 happy as can be just STARVING!!! I'm a pretty happy nanny right now. We're finishing off our little trip with a walk and lounging by the pool I'll post some pictures soon. But everybody should come stay here it's beautiful

From Harry Potter to Brownies

I know it's Friday but the best of my week is just getting started. Actually, the best of my summer. Last night This morning, I went and saw Harry Potter, (yes, I'm one of those nerds who buys my ticket way in advance for the midnight showing, like it won't be there for months) it was AMAZING!!!! I loved it. I have read all the books, more than 3 times each of course. I even got a little teary at the end, because it's the end. It also kind of symbolized the end of my childhood. I grew up with Harry Potter pretty much I read the books as they came out, I watched all the movies. They are my age so I've just grown attached I guess. Now adulthood; bills, rent, and unexpected expenses. So for all you HP nerds go see it if you haven't!

Sunday, I leave for the Tamaya Resort for "work." It's weird because it's vacation but I'm going with my bosses and doing what I do every other day so technically it's work. I'm very excited for it, hang out at the pool with the baby and just relax with lots of sleep hopefully. The baby is sleeping in my room so I have a feeling a few extra naps are in order. Don't worry I'll post plenty of pictures. I've heard it's a beautiful place.

I have many more trips planned that I'm looking forward too. A big one in August for vacay/wedding/reconnecting with friends. Two in September one of them being another "work" trip. I'll update on those as they get closer.

I try to do a dessert every week. Well this is hard when I don't want to waste it and all of the dessert doesn't always get eaten. This week I cheated. I bought a brownie mix! But i put my own little flare in it of course. I had some raspberries that needed to be eaten and some coconut so there you go, Raspberry Coconut Brownies. I'm pretty sure they'll get eaten ;)

No cute baby pictures today! I figured I should space them out so that you all keep coming back waiting for them! I'll just let you know she gets cuter everyday :-D

Finally!

So here I am, after months of wanting to start a blog and talking and thinking about it for hours. Here I am! Let me start off my explaining what I do for a living and what I love to do with my life. First off this is Fiamma (fee-om-ah) she is 2 months old and gorgeous.

My days start at 7:30am when I arrive at her house I'm here til 6pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and until around 2pm on Tuesday and Thursday! So I'm with her all the time. I have already fallen in love with her, and rightly so since I've watched her since she was a week old and look at her how could you not? Her parents are both successful Chiropractors and I love them as well. They make me feel very welcome their home is like a second one to me. Fiamma is very active and smart. She is a kicker, a grabber, a scratcher, but most of all she's a lover! She loves to be held and cuddled. We go on walks in the morning before it gets too hot and she loves it, she loves to be out and about. She's very mellow you could toss her around from person to person and she wouldn't care at all. She would just look up and smile at you, like this.

:-D she's so dang cute. Can you believe I just get to hang out with her all day long???? Me either it's truly a blessing. When I was looking for a job before school was over I wanted a nanny job I knew it would be more fulfilling than being a waitress and I would love it because I love children. I prayed for weeks for God to find me the perfect job that I could keep (I really didn't want to look for another job 3-6 months later.) Well I am on two babysitting websites, http://www.care.com/ and www.sittercity.com they are wonderful for any of you wanting to find a babysitting/nanny job. I would apply to about 5 different jobs on each site everyday.

I found a posting for a couple who were expecting a baby sometime at the end of April this was their first one and they needed help because both had their own business and were very busy. I applied and the same day I was asked to go in for an interview a couple days after that. I went in and interviewed with a man who was needing someone to come in 7 days a week for about 4 hrs a day to just give him and his wife a little break. This worked out with my school schedule and I agreed that I could do it if he chose me. He said he like what I had to say and he would talk to his wife about her doing another interview with me. Well just that night I heard back from him and his wife was comfortable with him just picking. So he wanted me to work for him and I was so excited! A brand new baby to watch was intimidating but so exciting. So I waited for the baby to get here. Well she had some trouble during birth. Fiamma inhaled some fluid and had to be kept in the hospital for a week. It was the longest week of my life I couldn't wait to see that baby. During this time I was carpooling the mother back-and-forth between her house and the hospital and walking the dog and doing things like that. The day came when they finally got to bring her home. Here's the blessing for me, sad for Fiamma's mother, things at her practice weren't going as planned so she had to go back to work full time. So, they needed me full-time, which I needed plus they want to keep me here for a while like years I think!!! Thank You, Lord!

Now for school, I don't know what I want to do with my life, but I know I love doing what I do now. So I'm going to continue my education online with either working towards a business degree or an early childhood education degree.

Now for my other passion food!!! I love to eat, but boy do I love to bake. Here's some of the things I've done.

Well, that's what I do and that's what I'll be talking about! Thank you for reading please come back!!!
